Boys and their toys

If this isn't a Daddy-buy-me-a-motorcycle look, I don't know what a Daddy-buy-me-a-motorcycle look looks like!  ;-)

Brace yourself, Peggy -- it may be two against one...

Loyal to the Mission

Even on a recent trip to Ireland, Linda finds the time to "think guide dog!"

"Ramp" it up, pups!

One goal of puppy meetings is to take raisers and dogs to venues that they otherwise might not visit.  So, after a several-year absence, we returned to the Skatepark of Tampa.  (Thank you, management, for welcoming us once again!)

Lightning stands proudly as the group recites the farewell poem in his honor.  He has been such a big, sweet guy for us, but college calls.

Once in the building, the dogs were exposed to lots of action and loud music.  Raisers were instructed to watch carefully for signs of stress or overstimulation in their dogs.  This would not be an age-appropriate meeting choice for very young pups.

Hope and Lightning

Hope's experience in a family full of kids and kid activities has her poised to take the skaters in stride!  Note the chin on the rail.  Ho hum.  ;-)

Don't own a pool?

They're really easy to make!!  ;-)

Our deepest secrets

This week we tried a new activity at our meeting.  Each raiser had previously supplied an interesting tidbit about him/herself that no one else would know.  The game, then, was to figure out which wacky accomplishments/interests/experiences belonged to whom.  The take home lesson?  We are an aMAZing group of people!

As for the dogs, the game simulated one of our most treacherous handling scenarios -- the cocktail party -- which involves repeatedly walking up to someone else with a dog and trying to carry on a conversation while steadying the dogs who want to greet.  (We thought about adding glasses of water to the mix to make a more realistic simulation, but, mercifully, we didn't really have time.)

Perusing the list of factoids to try to make some early guesses.  (Some teasers?  One of us was a professional gambler and one of us was a mortuary technician!)

And away we go!

Hope and Phi exchanging insider information, perhaps???

Near-death experience

...or not.  ;-)

Phi doesn't seem too flustered!
