Santa is groovy
He brought Suba JUST the right gift!
(Suba's family has hosted two Southeastern breeders. The statue really is perfect.)

A bit of holiday cheer
Our holiday meeting is always a highlight, and it's always...dark!
So here's a highly abbreviated synopsis:
a.) Santa came!!!

A new friendship
Puppy in training, Suba, compares notes with working guide dog, Troy, at the Ybor City Lions Club's annual bocce ball tournament. It never hurts to consult with an expert!

Yes, they do
Often, when people see us in public with our dogs in coat (on their best behavior), they ask, "Do they ever get a chance just to be dogs?"
Yes. Yes, they do.
Yes. Yes, they do.
Gordo, Suba, and Forrest seem to be having a pretty good time working out "the brother thing." ;-)

Poster boy
Suba stretched his Hollywood wings recently as he shot a TV commercial for Southeastern to be aired in conjunction with Animal Planet's 2017 Puppy Bowl!
Here he is proudly featured with Retired Lieutenant Colonel Kathy Champion, a Southeastern graduate.

Through the kindness of raisers
Debi and Jennifer have recently stepped up to spring two "older puppies" from the puppy kennel until they are assigned to permanent raisers. Welcome, Forrest and Junior. We'll enjoy having you for whatever time we have together.

Out with the old, in with the new
For any of us who've been associated with Southeastern for awhile, this "necessary progress" carries with it some sadness.
But our new digs -- oh, my, our new digs!

College man Snoopy
We're never ready for this. The dogs are...we humans aren't. But we put on our big-girl smiles and soldier on, knowing that we've raised our charges for a higher calling. Snoopy -- it's your big day!
Stuffing Kongs for later in the dogs' runs.
For this month's Freshman Orientation, school kids made the personalized signs for the Assessment runs.
Waiting. No fun.
Snoopy's brother, Sergeant Stryker, has his turn.
Snoopy's collage.
Jennifer knows why she does this...
After all of the dogs are called in, blindfold walks make up part of the day's Agenda. A "must do" for anyone in our program.
Most raisers will tell you that IFT day "was a fog." We do our best, but our hearts are broken.
And then we wait.
Snoopy, your puppy group will be holding you in thoughts and prayers while you are away from us. Know how much we love you and how much your family loves you.
Then. Just. Shine!

Canine superheroes meet human superheroes
We hadn't been to a firehouse for several years, so tonight was a treat. The firefighters were excited to have us; they couldn't have been kinder.
Suba
Snoopy
Cecil
Unfair to say, "throwing herself at the hunky firemen??"
Touring the house.
Julie cut her teeth on driving a tractor, so this was a bit like "old home week" for her!
Thank you, HCFR -- for a great evening, and more importantly, for putting your lives on the line every day for our citizenry.
