Welcome unnamed pup!

New-puppy names rarely appear in welcome posts because I like for raisers to be able to announce them themselves.  But this time, I couldn't tell you if I wanted to!

This little punkin' was being furloughed by Carly & Kim after they fetched her from the airport (having come in from a Pennsylvania service dog school).

Lucky for all of us, she will now join our group for the duration of her puppy year.   :-)

(Her PA name was Scribble.  We doubt it will stay with her.)

The bus gets us there

Our nearly-annual bus excursion is always fun.  We park our cars at a Home Depot, take the bus a few miles south to a shopping center, and kill most of an hour shopping.  The length of the ride isn't what's important; it's the embarking and the disembarking and the diesel fumes that might challenge a puppy.  This is one of the most crucial experiences we can give our dogs, as so many guide dog users utilize public transportation.  

Little did we know that right after this meeting the world would go into Covid lockdown.  We had no in-person meeting for many months, but our raisers still did yeoman's work to prepare their pups.
